Overview

TSM Technical is working in partnership with a leading name in the door systems industry to recruit an experienced Service Engineer for the Midlands region.

Territory Coverage

This is a field-based role covering:

Core Areas: Leicester (LE), Peterborough (PE), Coventry (CV), Northampton (NN), Milton Keynes (MK), Hitchin (SG), Luton (LU)

Occasional Travel: Nottingham (NG), Derby (DE), Birmingham (B)


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Install, service, and maintain automatic doors, industrial doors, and shutters
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
  • Complete all job documentation via tablet (iPad provided)
  • Participate in an on-call rota (1 in 5/6 weeks) with standby & call-out pay
  • Maintain excellent customer relationships on-site
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with compliance standards

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • At least 2 years’ experience with automatic and/or industrial doors
  • EN16005 or BS7036 qualified (or willing to obtain)
  • Confident with diagnostics and mechanical/electrical systems
  • Full UK driving licence
  • IT literate – comfortable using tablets and basic software

Desirable:

  • IPAF, PASMA or CSCS cards
  • Experience with shutters, sectional doors, or fire doors
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills

What’s On Offer

Pay & Hours:

  • Basic Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum (based on hourly rate)
  • OTE: £60,000+ achievable with overtime, on-call, and bonuses
  • Hours: Paid door-to-door
  • Overtime: Time and a half, double time on Sundays/bank holidays

On-Call Details:

  • 1 in 5 or 6 weeks
  • £175 per week standby pay
  • Additional £50 if attending 4 jobs during standby
  • £50 bonus for midnight callouts + 11 hours rest paid the next day

  • Company van & fuel card
  • Power tools, hand tools, uniform & PPE
  • iPad for job management
  • Screwfix card for materials
