Automatic Door Engineer – West Midlands

TSM Technical is currently recruiting on behalf of a long-established and highly respected company in the entrance systems industry. We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Automatic Door Engineer to join their expanding team in the West Midlands.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation with over 30 years of experience and play a key role in the growth of their servicing and installation operations.


What You'll Be Doing

As an Automatic Door Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of automatic door systems. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service across a variety of commercial and industrial sites.

Your main duties will include:

  • Installing and commissioning automatic doors from various manufacturers.
  • Diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and ensuring all work complies with BS 7036 and BS EN16005 standards.
  • Completing routine servicing and attending emergency call-outs as part of the on-call rota.
  • Working additional hours when needed – overtime is available and paid.
  • Communicating clearly with customers about work completed and any additional requirements.
  • Submitting accurate job reports and promoting other relevant products and services.
  • Following all health and safety procedures at all times.

What We're Looking For

We’re seeking someone with technical knowledge, a proactive mindset, and a strong work ethic.

Essential:

  • Proven experience with automatic door systems (service and/or installation).
  • Full UK driving licence (clean).
  • CSCS card.
  • ADSA or ADIA certification.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 in a relevant field.
  • In-depth understanding of BS 7036 and BS EN16005.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
