Branch Manager – Hertfordshire (Industrial Doors)

Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 + Company Car/Allowance
Location: Ware, Hertfordshire
Hours: Monday – Friday


The Company

Our client is a well-established and highly respected independent engineering business, operating for over 60 years. They specialise in the manufacture, installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial doors, steel fabrication, industrial roofing, and lift systems, with multiple branches across the UK.


The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Branch Manager to lead and develop the Hertfordshire operation. This is a hands-on leadership role with full responsibility for the branch’s performance, covering operations, sales, people management, and profitability.

You will work closely with the Directors, playing a key role in driving growth, improving efficiency, and ensuring high standards across all areas of the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of branch performance, reporting to Directors on results and future strategy
  • Manage financial performance, including monthly and annual P&L, ensuring strong margins
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across both factory and field service teams
  • Effectively plan and allocate labour, including out-of-hours requirements
  • Ensure the availability of plant, equipment, and transport to meet operational demands
  • Lead and support sales activity, ensuring contracts are secured at commercially viable levels
  • Drive operational efficiency and ensure contracts are delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Identify opportunities for business growth and branch expansion
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality, and environmental compliance
  • Lead all HR activities including recruitment, training, development, and performance management
  • Motivate and develop teams to achieve both individual and branch objectives

Experience & Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Branch Manager or senior leadership role
  • Background within industrial doors, engineering, or a related sector
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and profitability
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to build and develop teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Full UK driving licence
